Mirage Duet | Original Square-Format Abstract Painting | 48" x 48" Mixed Media on Canvas

A large-scale meditation on perception and illusion — two luminous spheres drift across a hand-worked field of atmospheric color, never quite resolving into something you can name. Are they planets? Moons? Memories? The longer you look, the more the canvas shifts beneath your gaze.

Painted in my "object delusion" series, this piece lives in the tension between abstraction and recognition. Soft veils of pigment build into hazy depth, while subtle texture catches the light differently as you move around the room. One orb glows warm; the other cools into shadow — a quiet duet that anchors the entire wall.

Where It Belongs Designed to command a focal wall: above a sofa, behind a bed, in an entryway, or anchoring a minimal office or studio. The square format works beautifully solo or as the centerpiece of a curated arrangement. Equally at home in modern, transitional, Japandi, or contemporary luxe interiors.

Shipping Ships rolled in a sturdy tube (recommended for 48"×48") or stretched and crated upon request (additional fee). Fully insured and tracked. Custom crating adds 5–10 business days.

A Note from the Artist Object delusion is the moment a brushstroke almost becomes something — a moon, a face, a world — and then slips away again. Each piece is painted in a single immersive session. When this one finds its home, it's gone for good.
